NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The NYPD released photos on Wednesday of moped-riding men connected to a robbery pattern where they violently snatched Apple AirPods from the heads of three victims.
The first incident was on May 18, at around 3 p.m. when two unidentified men approached a 24-year-old woman near Grand Street and Leonard Street, police said.
The suspects then pulled her hair and forcibly removed her Apple Airpods from her head. She had minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.
The suspects ran off eastbound on Grand Street to parts unknown on a blue and black moped, police said.
The second incident happened nearly an hour later on the same day. The two suspects approached a 29-year-old woman near 40th Street and Queens Boulevard and removed her Apple Airpods from her head, police said. She was not injured and the suspects fled northbound on 40th Street to parts unknown on a blue and black moped.
The latest incident happened at around 3:15 p.m. when the two suspects approached a 21-year-old man near 50th Street and Queens Boulevard and removed his Apple Airpods from his head, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. He had minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The suspects were last seen fleeing westbound on 47th Street to parts unknown on a blue and black moped, police said.
