NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who shot an innocent bystander while sticking up someone else at gunpoint in the Bronx's Concourse Village neighborhood.
On Aug. 11 around 6:47 a.m., the suspect was robbing a man sitting at a bus stop on Morris Avenue near East 161st Street when he fired three shots, according to officials.
None of the shots hit the man he was robbing, but one struck a 39-year-old bystander in the ankle.
The shooter then fled in an SUV.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
