NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Mayor Bill de Blasio got a flu shot at his daily COVID-19 briefing on Thursday as the city launches a campaign to get people vaccinated for the upcoming flu season.
The city’s health commissioner, Dr. Dave Chokshi, administered the shot to the mayor at City Hall.

“I know that Dave’s really good at it,” de Blasio said as he rolled up his sleeve.
As Chokshi administered the jab, the mayor declared, “Vaccines work!”
De Blasio said a record 35% more New Yorkers came out in 2020 than in 2019 to get their flu shot as the city battled “a two-front war” of COVID and the flu last winter.

“We really want to make sure people get this out of the way now, this is the right time to do it,” de Blasio said as he encouraged everyone from seniors to "Zoomers" to get the shot.
Back in March, de Blasio got his COVID-19 vaccine on camera at a daily briefing.
