NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Move over pizza rat (and bagel rat). This hungry subway rat has a doughnut—and he's sharing!

The city may be waging a "war on rats," but another rodent has won the hearts of New Yorkers by pulling foodstuff through the transit system. And this one—dubbed Donut Rat—is giving guys everywhere "lessons in chivalry."

Donut Rat was captured on video by recent NYU grad Carly Hittner, who told 1010 WINS she was with her friends at the Chambers Street station in Lower Manhattan on Sunday night when she saw two rats sharing a doughnut.

Her sweet video shows one rat dragging the doughnut across the trackbed to another rat, who joins in on the feeding frenzy.

"I saw this rat, and we were like that's funny," Hittner said. "That's a rat with a doughnut. It's kind of like Pizza Rat."

Hittner, 23, posted the video to TikTok with the caption: "Donut rat treats his woman better than half you other rats in this city."

"I was just thinking this is kind of funny how this rat's providing for its family, and like all the men in this city are so awful," she joked.

The video has received 2 million views and 2,000 comments, many from women who agree the city needs more Donut Rats.

"I have a boyfriend and he's not a rat," Hittner said. "Actually, no, he is a rat. He's Donut Rat. He's the right kind of rat. Donut Rat is a good rat. Donut Rat is an example for men. If you are Donut Rat, then you have nothing to worry about."
