NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is on the lookout for a pair that is suspected in eight brutal robberies across Brooklyn since late November.
According to police, in the first incident, at around 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 26, two male individuals approached a 22-year-old man from behind in front of 914 Hart Street. As one individual pushed the victim and held him on the ground, the second individual began removing his cellphone, headphones and a wallet containing credit/debit cards as well as $50, with the property taken valued at $1,360. The pair then fled in an unknown direction.
Nearly a month later, on Dec. 19, the two suspects approached a 30-year-old male victim from behind at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Saint Nicholas Avenue and Harman Street. The individuals demanded his property and said they had a knife. One individual grabbed the victim by the throat while the second individual removed the victim’s headphones, cellphone and wallet containing credit and debit cards and identification before fleeing in an unknown direction.
At around 12:40 a.m. on Christmas Eve, the two approached a 36-year-old man at the intersection of Saint Nicholas Avenue and Harman Street and demanded his property while brandishing a knife. The individuals then took the victim's backpack, containing approximately $1,000, a cellphone, headphones and other items.
Less than an hour later, at 1:20 a.m., the duo approached a 35-year-old man from behind in front of 419 Stanhope Street. One suspect pulled down the victim's winter hat over his eyes while the second individual placed the victim in a chokehold from behind. The individuals removed the victim's wallet, containing approximately $700, credit/debit cards, and multiple forms of identification and fled westbound on Stanhope Street towards Saint Nicholas Avenue on bikes.
On Jan. 23, at around 11:55 p.m., the suspects struck again, targeting a 32-year-old man who police said was grabbed by the throat by one of the individuals while the second removed his cellphone and a wallet containing $200 and a debit card. The victim's then fled in an unknown direction.
Weeks later, around 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 27, the duo approached a 56-year-old man in front of 11 Harman Street from behind. One suspect placed the victim in a chokehold while the other stole his cellphone and wallet, which contained $40 and identification documents. They fled westbound on Harman Street on bikes.
The next day, the pair approached a 36-year-old man from behind at around 7:50 p.m. in front of 366 Linden Street. One individual placed him in a chokehold while the other stole his wallet, which contained $300, credit/debit cards and identification documents. The two fled the scene, one on foot and the other on a bike, in unknown directions.
In the last reported incident on March 7, the two approached a 35-year-old male from behind around 12:40 a.m. in front of 351 Bleecker Street. The victim was pushed to the ground by one suspect, while the other removed his cellphone and wallet containing credit/debit cards. One individual fled on a bicycle, while the other fled on foot, both in unknown directions.
None of the victims in each case required medical attention, police said.
The suspects are described as males who speak Spanish and often ride bikes.
