NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man who sucker-punched a straphanger in the face in an apparently random attack caught on video at a Brooklyn subway station last week.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the attack Friday after the victim was attacked at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station in Park Slope last Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the 42-year-old victim was talking on his cellphone when a stranger came up a staircase behind him and punched him in the face around 12:30 p.m.
Video shows the assault unfolding near the turnstiles for the B and Q lines.
The victim briefly fights back before taking off down the stairs, the video shows. He's then followed by his assailant and the two get into a struggle at the bottom of the stairs.

The victim suffered a laceration over his left eye and a laceration to his right cheek. He was taken by EMS to Cobble Hill Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The attacker fled towards the 4 and 5 lines, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
