NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man who targeted three women in a violent robbery spree in Brooklyn in which victims were punched, dragged and carjacked.
Police said Saturday that the three robberies happened in Greenpoint, Williamsburg and East Williamsburg over a one-hour span on the afternoon of June 5.
In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman was walking near Woodpoint Road and Conselyea Street in Williamsburg around 1:25 p.m. when a man came up from behind her and grabbed her yellow bag, police said.
The man then drove off in a black sedan with the bag, which contained credit cards, keys and a cellphone, police said. The woman was not injured.
Video released by the NYPD on Saturday shows the man running out of the car and grabbing the bag from the woman before speeding off.
About 35 minutes after that robbery, around 2 p.m., a 59-year-old woman was walking home near Richardson Street and Graham Avenue in Williamsburg when a man came up from behind and punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, police said.
The man then dragged her on the ground while trying to steal her purse, but he was unable to take it from her, according to police.
The woman suffered pain and bruising to her head and left eye but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

Less than a half hour later, a 59-year-old woman was on her cell phone in her gray Toyota outside 178 Nassau Ave. in Greenpoint at 2:25 p.m. when a man opened the passenger door, punched her and pushed her out of the vehicle into the street, police said.
The man then drove off in the Toyota, police said. The vehicle was later found abandoned at Withers Street and Vandervoort Avenue in East Williamsburg with damage to its driver-side door, rear door and rear bumper.
The woman refused medical attention at the scene, according to police.
