VIDEO: Man in Brooklyn steals car with sleeping woman inside

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Surveillance footage caught a man who stole a car with a sleeping woman inside before he sexually assaulted her, police said Saturday.

The woman's boyfriend had left his car parked and running on Wycoff Avenue in Bushwick around 4 a.m. on Nov. 7 when the suspect spotted the woman, hopped in and drove off, according to police.

The man then parked the car about a mile away, near the corner of Suydam Street and Onderdonk Avenue, where he proceeded to sexually assault the 27-year-old woman as she remained sleeping inside, police said.

The woman woke up during the attack and began screaming, at which point the man fled on foot, according to police.

The suspect is described to be between 35 and 40 years old and was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur-lined hood and dark pants. He could be seen on security footage looking around as he lingered near the vehicle before eventually getting into the driver's seat.
