NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man threw hot liquid in the face of an MTA bus driver in the Bronx after being called out for not paying the fare, police said.
Video released by the NYPD on Thursday shows the man tossing liquid in the face of a 49-year-old woman operating a Bx6 bus on Feb. 3, according to police.
The attack happened as the man and bus driver argued about the fare at 3rd Avenue and E. 163 Street in the Morrisania section, police said.
The man, who was only on the bus for one stop, threw “hot liquid” at the driver’s face then fled on foot, according to police.
The driver refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
It's not the only attack on a bus driver in recent weeks. A driver was spat on and knocked unconscious with a piece of wood in Brooklyn this month, police said.
