NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two supermarket employees were slashed as they fought with a couple of suspected shoplifters in the Bronx last week, police said.
The two suspects, a man and a woman, were spotted stealing bars of soap from a shelf at the Met Fresh Supermarket on Webster Avenue in the Morrisania section last Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Two men working at the store confronted the man and woman, sparking a fight at the entrance of the store that was captured on surveillance video.
Police said the man cut the two employees with a sharp object before fleeing with the woman down Webster Avenue.

A 38-year-old employee was slashed on the right hand and a 56-year-old employee was slashed on the right elbow, police said. Both were treated at the scene by EMS.
Police said the stolen property was recovered.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects on Wednesday.
