NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A mob of ATV and dirt bike riders stole a four-wheeler from a tow truck in the middle of traffic in the Bronx this week, police said.
The NYPD released shocking video Wednesday of the group surrounding the truck in Soundview on Sunday and taking the four-wheeler right off the flatbed.
A 32-year-old man was driving the truck along the Bruckner Expressway service road just before 7 p.m. when the group ambushed him mid-transit.

Some of the riders jumped onto the truck’s flatbed and stole the four-wheeler.
Video shows them unloading the ATV off the truck near the Shell gas station at Bruckner Boulevard and Wheeler Avenue.

The group fled with the stolen ATV eastbound on the Bruckner Expressway service road.
The vehicle was later found abandoned nearby and recovered by NYPD officers.

It’s unclear if the vehicle had been seized from the same group at a previous point and they were attempting to get it back.
The tow truck driver wasn’t injured during the robbery, police said.
Photos from the NYPD show two of the suspects in the group, as well as an ATV one of them was riding.
