VIDEO: Police officers rescue man who fell on subway tracks, hit his head in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two police officers rescued a man who fell onto the subway tracks in Washington Heights over the weekend, according to a bodycam video shared by the NYPD on Thursday.

While on patrol, the officers were notified about a man who had fallen onto the subway tracks at the 181st Street station on the A train on Sunday at around 7:20 a.m.


The officers quickly found the man on the tracks, with a good Samaritan already at his side trying to help.

The video captured one officer and a good Samaritan jumping onto the tracks, while the other officer helped in pulling the man back onto the platform and to safety.

The victim was taken to  Harlem Hospital for an evaluation, police said.

Both officers and the bystander were okay.
