NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A fire at a Coney Island power plant sent a plume of smoke over Brooklyn on Thursday morning.
The two-alarm fire broke out shortly after 9 a.m. at a power plant at W. 6th Street and Shore Parkway. It was brought under control by 10:30 a.m., the FDNY said.
Citizen App video shows a cloud of thick smoke rising from the power plant.
The plant provides power to the Warbasse Houses. WCBS-TV reported that some residents were without power Thursday morning because of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
