NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A robber punched a Queens gas station employee in the face before stealing $1,000 in an attack that was caught on surveillance video, the NYPD said Thursday.
The 40-year-old employe was working at a Sunoco gas station on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica around 11:30 p.m. on June 25 when the male thief approached him and punched him, police said.

After he attacked the employee, the robber grabbed a cigar box that was holding around $1,000 in cash, the NYPD said.
The robber — who was wearing a black du-rag, a black shirt, black sweatpants, black slippers and a black and red fanny pack — fled west on Hillside Avenue after the robbery, according to police.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
