NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Smoke from a fire was seen pouring out of a luxury apartment high-rise in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, videos and photos show.
It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the fire on the roof of 102 Charlton St. in Hudson Square, but a plume of smoke was visible around 10 a.m.
The FDNY said receive a call about the fire at 9:43 a.m. and that it was brought under control at 10:47 a.m. More than 75 FDNY members responded to the scene, including firefighters and EMS.
The smoke appeared to be spewing directly from the roof of the 25-story building, which features luxury rentals. No injuries were reported, according to the FDNY.
The scene is just a block from the Hudson Street headquarters of Audacy New York, which houses the 1010 WINS and WCBS 880 newsrooms.
Photos from staff show the smoke breaking through an otherwise crystal-clear sky.
