NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Paramount Pictures released its first full trailer Thursday for “Scream 6,” a month after confirming the latest slasher installment will take place in New York City.
The two-minute trailer shows Ghostface wreaking havoc in a bodega and stalking Gale Weathers, played by franchise veteran Courteney Cox, in an apartment.
The trailer also reveals Hayden Panettiere’s return as Kirby Reed from 2011’s “Scream 4.”
Much of the cast of 2022’s “Scream”—Cox, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding—will be back. However, franchise star Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott, exited over a pay dispute.
In “Scream 6,” the survivors “leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter” in New York City—or not.
Just last month, Paramount Pictures released a one-minute teaser trailer for the film, which will be released March 10.
The film undoubtedly pays homage to the 1989 flick, “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan,” in which the hockey-masked killer slashes his way through a New York–bound ship and onto the streets of the city.
