NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Buckle up; The National Weather Service issued a severe storm warning for New York City, Westchester and Northern New Jersey on Saturday.

The storms could bring gusts up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.
Conditions like that could down power lines and damage vehicles stored outside.
“For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building,” wrote the NWS in the warning.
The agency predicts the storms will last into the early afternoon.
Forecasters say it will move northward starting in Hackensack and Paramus, moving to Bergenfield, followed by Tappan and Orangeburg and finally hitting Yonkers and New York City.
The weather should dry up on Sunday and Monday, as a heat wave hits the Tri-State area — driving temperatures into the 80s.
