NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Over the last nine years, 1010 WINS has awarded $210,000 to small businesses through the 1010 WINS Small Business $10K Challenge, sponsored by Dime Community Bank.
And while the city's small business talent continues to create and innovate, WINS is right there with them, continuing to award them with funds to do just that.
So who won the latest installment of the Challenge? Bronx-based Fix It With Peggy, founded by Ashonda Culcleasure, which "focuses on supporting youth through tech courses and internships, partnering with educational organizations and city programs," according to its website.

"We're not here just to make a living, we're here to make a difference by empowering the youth," Culcleasure told a panel of judges during her presentation at WINS earlier this month. "Unfortunately only 6.8 percent of Black Americans and 13.28 percent of Hispanics contribute to the tech workforce. these numbers are even more pronounced in the Bronx with over a hundred high schools and only 18 of them being career and technical education schools focused on technology. This is where Fix It With Piggy steps in. We aim to manifest a different story."
Congrats, Fix It With Piggy!
