Woman, 24, and man, 92, killed in hit-and-runs in Queens, Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two people were killed in hit-and-run crashes in Queens and Manhattan on Thursday night, police said.

The first crash was in Ozone Park around 10 p.m. Police said a 24-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle near South Conduit Avenue and Linden Boulevard.


Officers responding to a 911 call found the woman lying on the roadway with severe head trauma.

The woman was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the woman was crossing South Conduit Boulevard when a vehicle struck her and then fled the location.

Less than two hours later, a 92-year-old man was found lying on the roadway at East 40th Street and First Avenue in Murray Hill around 11:30 p.m. Citizen App video shows ambulances at the scene.

The man suffered head and body trauma. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD said the man was crossing East 40th Street when he was struck by a dark-colored vehicle traveling northbound on First Avenue.

The vehicle fled the scene after striking the man, police said.

No arrests have been reported in either hit-and-run crash, according to police. Investigations remain ongoing.
