NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was killed after she was struck by a train at an Upper West Side subway station on Saturday morning, police said.
The 32-year-old woman was hit by a 2 train at the 96th Street station shortly before 1 a.m., according to police.
Responding officers found the woman unconscious under the train. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
Her identity has been withheld pending the notification of her family.
The train's operator pulled the emergency brake, but the train didn't stop in time, according to the Daily News.
Sources told the paper that investigators are looking into the possibility the woman lost her balance while walking between cars or jumped.
