NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man they said pepper-sprayed and robbed a 72-year-old woman in a Brooklyn elevator Sunday morning.
According to officials, around 11:30 a.m., the victim was in the elevator of a building located at 1024 Montgomery Street in Weeksville when the suspect sprayed her then snatched her bag from her shoulder.
The man then sprayed the victim in the eyes again as he proceeded to remove several items from the bag, authorities said.
Officials said the suspect took $450 in cash, a bank card, as well as other items police described as "trinkets".
The suspect was described as a man in his 30s.
An investigation is ongoing.
