NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 75-year-old woman was thrown to the ground by a purse-snatcher in the East Village earlier this week, police said Friday as they released images of a suspect.

The victim was walking at Avenue D and Seventh Avenue around 4 p.m. Saturday when she was attacked from behind by a masked woman.

The woman grabbed her purse, knocking her to the ground in the process, police said.

The thief snatched $1,300 from the purse and fled northbound on Avenue D, according to police.

EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where she was treated for minor injuries to her hip.
