Woman, 77, sucker punched near Central Park on the UWS; suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD is searching for a man suspected of sucker punching a woman near Central Park on the Upper West Side last Friday.

Police released images Thursday of the suspect, who’s seen walking down a street with a trash bag around the time of the unprovoked attack.

The victim was standing in front of 27 West 72nd St., just west of the famed Dakota apartments, around 2 p.m. when a man came up and punched her in the left eye, police said.

He then fled westbound on West 72nd Street towards Columbus Avenue, according to cops.

She suffered minor injuries that didn’t require hospitalization, police said.
