NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 88-year-old woman died after she was struck by a turning van driver in Chinatown on Friday, police said.
She was hit shortly before 11 a.m. while walking eastbound at Canal and Allen streets.
The van driver was making a right turn off Canal onto Allen at the time, according to police.
The victim was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she was pronounced dead at 11:21 a.m.
The driver remained at the scene and has not been arrested as the investigation continues.
