NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating the deaths of a 93-year-old woman and her 48-year-old son, whose bodies were found at their luxury Chelsea apartment on Saturday.

Agnes Wedell and William Wedell were found dead at their apartment on W. 23rd Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, around 2:40 p.m. They are mother and son, according to multiple reports.

The mother was found on a couch and the son was found lying inside a bedroom, police said. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said no arrests have been made and that an investigation is ongoing. The medical examiner will determine their cause of death.

Police sources told the New York Post that the woman's daughter asked police to visit the apartment after she couldn't reach anyone there.

The sources said they don't suspect foul play in the deaths.

"We're just here to be on the safe side," one source told the paper. "We think they were sick."

Police believe the mother died first and that her son had been dead for several days, according to the report.
