NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 94-year-old woman died and a 32-year-old woman and 3-month old baby were injured after a fire tore through an apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side early Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.

The fire broke out at a building on East 78th Street, near 2nd Avenue, around 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

FDNY firefighters pulled a 94-year-old woman from an apartment inside the building. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, the NYPD said.

A 32-year-old woman and a 3-month-old girl were taken to the same hospital in stable condition, police said.
