NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police are searching for a man on a moped accused of throwing a 96-year-old woman onto a Harlem street while snatching her chain last month.

At approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday, May 24, the victim was in the vicinity of West 127th Street and Eighth Avenue when the suspect approached her on a moped.


According to officials, the suspect then snatched a necklace from the victim's neck, causing her to fall to the ground.

He then fled the location on the black moped, traveling eastbound on West 127th Street.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.
