NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a woman was fatally shot in the face following an argument on a Bronx street Sunday night, authorities said.
At about 11:30 p.m. Lashawn Andrews, 24, got into a dispute with two other women in front of her apartment building located on 422 East 178 Street in Belmont, officials said.
The dispute escalated and one of the women grabbed a 9mm handgun from a nearby vehicle and shot Andrews once in the face, the NYPD said.
Responding officers discovered Andrews unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the face.
EMS rushed her to St. Barnabas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
There have been no arrests made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
