The incident happened at St. John’s Place and Rochester Avenue in Crown Heights where the 46-year-old woman was attempting to get into the rear passenger seat of a Jeep Cherokee, police said.

The woman’s 48-year-old boyfriend did not realize she was entering the vehicle and started driving away as she was getting in, causing her to fall to the ground, cops said.

An SUV then hit the woman after she was on the ground and fled the scene, according to officials.

She was taken to Kings County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made yet and the investigation remains ongoing.
