NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 62-year-old woman died after a truck hit her as she was pushing a baby in a stroller in Brooklyn Thursday morning, the NYPD said.
Rachel Gandel, of Williamsburg, was pushing the 1-year-old girl's stroller across Myrtle Avenue, at Bedford Avenue, in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 10:55 a.m. when a driver traveling east on Myrtle Avenue in a flatbed truck hit her, police said.
Gandel was taken to The Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead, the NYPD said. The baby was not injured, police said.
The 38-year-old truck driver stayed at the scene and had not been charged as of Thursday afternoon, the NYPD said. An investigation is ongoing.
