NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police found a 60-year-old woman dead after entering a barricaded apartment in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.
A 62-year-old man had barricaded himself inside the home as police responded to a wellness check just before 8 p.m. at Ditmas Avenue and E. 5th Street in Kensington.
The officers were eventually able to gain entry to the apartment, where the found the woman lying unresponsive on the kitchen floor.

EMS pronounced her dead at the scene. She hasn't yet been identified.
The man was transported by EMS to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.
No charges have been reported in the case.
The medical examiner will determine how the woman died.
