NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A woman was found dead in a stairwell of a Bronx hospital earlier this week—reportedly five days after she fell and died there.
At about 9:30 a.m. o Monday, August 21, officers responded to Montefiore Family Health Center located at 1 Fordham Plaza in Belmont where they discovered a woman unconscious and unresponsive in the stairwell, officials said.
The woman was was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was later identified as 57-year-old Sary Mao by police.
According to Politico, a preliminary police investigation found she'd suffered a fatal fall five days earlier on Wednesday, Aug. 16. The medical examiner determined she died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
