NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a gunman who grazed a woman's hip after he stepped off an MTA bus and opened fire on the Upper West Side Thursday night.
At around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired on West 108th Street and Central Park West, where they found a 55-year-old woman who had suffered a graze wound to her hip.
According to officials, the gunman was riding on a southbound M18 bus on Central Park West when he allegedly saw a person with whom he had an ongoing dispute.
The suspect instructed the bus driver to stop then exited bus and fired in the direction of that person, missing him but grazing the woman, believed to be innocent bystander, authorities said.
The woman was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. So far, there have been no arrests made.
