NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A pregnant woman needed an emergency c-section over the weekend after she was shot in Brooklyn, according to an NYPD spokesman.
The eight months pregnant, 21-year-old victim was was shot once in the right shoulder on Saturday near Utica Avenue and Montgomery Street in Crown Heights, police said.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was treated and underwent the emergency C-section atl, an NYPD spokesman added.
Both the woman and the baby are expected to survive.
Police have not released a description of the shooter and described the victim as "highly uncooperative."
