The NYPD released images Thursday of a suspect in the July 5 assault on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, near W. 155th Street, in Washington Heights.

As the bus was stopped around 11:30 a.m., a woman came up to the driver’s side window and began banging on the glass, police said.

The woman then discharged pepper spray at the bus driver’s neck and chest, according to police.

It's unclear if the woman and bus driver were involved in a dispute prior to the attack.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.

The suspect, believed to be in her mid-40s, fled the area on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
