NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released a video on Friday of a man wanted in connection to a robbery that occurred on a train in Upper Manhattan earlier this week.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, inside of a northbound 1 train in Washington Heights, officials said.

According to police, the suspect approached a 28-year-old woman, displayed a knife, and demanded her property.

The victim complied and gave him her cell phone and wallet, authorities said.

The suspect exited the train at the 191 Street subway station, the NYPD said.

Among the items inside the victim's wallet were a debit and a credit card.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect attempted to purchase merchandise with the victim's cards from a Family Dollar located at 228 Nagel Avenue on the same day as the robbery.

Police described the suspect as a male, black, 6'1", 220lbs and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
