NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An emotionally disturbed woman was arrested in Midtown on Tuesday morning after she allegedly set fire to an apartment building and then threw various objects from the roof.

It happened at about 8:45 a.m. on West 49th Street between 8th and 9th avenues, officials said.

According to officials, the woman rushed to the roof naked and started a fire inside the garbage compactor. She was also seen tossing debris from the roof, prompting police to block off the area to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze while the woman reportedly barricaded herself inside an apartment, cops said.

Police then engaged in a brief standoff before NYPD Emergency Service Unit members rushed into the building and took her and another woman into custody.

EMS rushed the woman, who was identified by police as Sharon McNeill, 54, to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment and a psychological evaluation.

McNeill was charged with reckless endangerment, while Get was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police also arrested 32-year -old Pa Ge for aiding in the crime chaos.

Authorities did not immediately release information regarding property damage.
