NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman pushed an Asian-American City Council candidate as she was traversing the stairs inside the Oculus subway station in Manhattan last week, she said in a new interview.
Susan Lee, who is running for City Council in lower Manhattan's District 1, told the New York Post a woman with a "mischievous look on her face" shoved her down the stairs on March 17.
"If I wasn't prepared for her to push me, I would have fallen all the way down the stairs," she told the outlet. "I was holding onto the rail really tightly, and I had my other hand in front of my face."
The shove left Lee with a sprained ankle, she said. She reported the incident to police several days later, the outlet reported.
The woman who pushed her hadn't been arrested as of Thursday, according to the outlet.
