NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman slashed the neck of a taxi driver after he asked her to pay the fare in Queens, police said Monday.

The slashing happened on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 11, as the woman was riding in a cab at 89th Street and 23rd Avenue in East Elmhurst.

As the ride was ending, the driver asked her for the fare. She responded by whipping out a knife and slashing him across the neck, police said.

She fled on foot and was last seen headed eastbound on 23rd Avenue, according to cops.

The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was listed in stable condition with a laceration to the neck.
