NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The NYPD released surveillance footage of a woman they are looking to identify in connection to a jewelry theft in Brooklyn earlier this month, authorities said.
On Friday, March 18, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a 51-year-old man was sitting on the stairs in front of his residence located in the vicinity of 81st Street and 19th Avenue in Bensonhurst, officials said.

According to police, the suspect exited the passenger side of a dark vehicle, approached the victim, and engaged in a conversation with him while distracting him.
The woman then placed fake jewelry around the victim's neck while hugging him and removing his valuable chain, the NYPD said.
She then returned to the dark vehicle with an unidentified driver before fleeing to parts unknown with the victim's jewelry worth approximately $10,000.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
The woman was described as having a light skin complexion, approximately 5'6" tall, 150 pounds, medium brown hair in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a green long skirt, floral shirt, black shoes, and carrying a black purse.
The second suspect is described as an unidentified individual operating a dark vehicle.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
