NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance images Thursday of a woman who allegedly stabbed another subway rider in the head on a train in Midtown this week.

The stabbing happened as a 4 train was headed downtown near the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The two women got into a dispute aboard the train around 1:50 p.m., though it’s unclear exactly what they were fighting about.

EMS responded to the station and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she was in stable condition and being treated for a stab wound to the head.

The suspect, who’s believed to be about 25 years old, fled the train and remains at large, police said.
