Worker hospitalized in Bronx construction accident; DOB investigates

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities are investigating a construction accident in the Bronx on Monday morning that left one worker injured.

Police received a call of a construction accident just at around 9:14 a.m. at 1480 Bryant Ave., a 3-story family building under permit for renovations in Charlotte Gardens.

Upon arrival, inspectors were informed that a worker on the roof level fell approximately 30 feet into the rear yard.

EMS transported the worker to St. Barnabas Hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown, officials said.

An investigation is underway by the Department of Buildings.
