NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The world’s first window-washing robot equipped with AI tech was deployed Wednesday on a skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, ushering in a "new era" for the window-washing business, its creators said.

The robot, named Ozmo, will maintain 1133 Sixth Ave., which is the only skyscraper in the world that uses an automated window-cleaning system, according to a joint press release from Skyline Robotics, The Durst Organization, and Palladium Window Solutions.

Video shows the robot meticulously cleaning the windows of the 45-story tower a block north of Bryant Park.

Ozmo is outfitted with “AI, machine learning and computer vision with advanced robotics and sensors” that helps the bot “never miss a spot,” according to the release, which says it underwent rigorous testing and regulatory requirements before being deployed.

Ozmo will help usher in “a new era for the $40 billion window-cleaning industry” amid a global shortage of window cleaners, its creators said, helping to drive jobs and keep humans out of harm's way once fully deployed.

“We’re delivering the future of façade maintenance as Ozmo and human window cleaners work in unison to protect the health of buildings faster and safer than existing solutions,” said Michael Brown, the CEO of Skyline Robotics.
