NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Wednesday released a photo of a would-be shoplifter accused of attacking employees at Staten Island supermarket last month.
It happened at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, when the suspect entered the Market Fresh Supermarket located on Tompkins Avenue in Rosebank.
According to officials, the man attempted to exit the store with concealed merchandise. When a 21-year-old employee and 27-year-old employee attempted to recover the merchandise, the man pushed and struck them in the head and face, cops said.
The employees were able to recover the merchandise, and the suspect fled on foot to parts unknown.
Both employees were treated by EMS on scene and were not hospitalized.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black Nike baseball hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants.
