NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The 34-year-old yoga teacher accused of fatally shooting a world-class cyclist in a jealous rage is believed to have fled to New York City, authorities said Wednesday.

Kaitlin Marie Armstrong is accused of killing Anna Moriah Wilson on May 11 at a residence in East Austin, Texas, where Wilson was staying in preparation for a cycling race.
Wilson, a 25-year-old from Vermont, was found bleeding and unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds when police responded, the U.S. Marshals Office said.
Police performed CPR on Wilson, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. A homicide warrant was issued for Armstrong on May 17.
Investigators believe Armstrong was at the Austin International Bergstrom Airport on May 14 at approximately 12:30 p.m. She boarded a flight to Houston Hobby Airport and then boarded a connecting flight to LaGuardia Airport.

"Armstrong deleted her social media accounts and has not been seen or heard from since last Friday, May 13," according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KXAN.
Armstrong had been dating professional cyclist Colin Strickland for almost three years, according to the affidavit. During a gap in their relationship, though, Strickland started dating Wilson.
Police said that based on a search of Wilson's phone, texts indicated that Wilson believed that she was "still in a romantic relationship with Strickland even though he was currently dating Armstrong."
Strickland was living with Armstrong during this time. Strickland allegedly lied to Armstrong about his whereabouts on May 11, telling her he had gone to drop flowers off for someone, and that his phone had died.

Investigators believe Armstrong eventually found out about a May 11 pool date between Strickland and Wilson and shot Wilson out of jealousy.
Armstrong is 5'8 and weighs approximately 125 pounds, authorities said.
She has light brown long, curly hair and hazel eyes and was last seen on surveillance video wearing a blue denim jacket, a black shirt with a pink design on the chest, white jeans, black and white tennis shoes, a black COVID mask and a possible yoga mat carrier on her shoulders.
