NORTH BELLPORT, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Corvette crash on Long Island Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.
A 23-year-old man was driving the Corvette westbound on Sunrise Highway in North Bellport just before 10 p.m. when he lost control of the sports car at Station Road.
The vehicle went off the highway and crashed into a road sign, police said.
The woman, of Holtsville, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital.
The man, also of Holtsville, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue.
The Corvette was impounded for a safety check, police said as an investigation into the crash continues.
