NEW LISBON, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 55-year-old man’s body was recovered from a cranberry reservoir in a New Jersey forest over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
According to New Jersey State Park police, at about 7:30 p.m., officials pulled the body of Frank Guadagnini from the water in Whitesbog and first responders attempted to revive him upon arrival.
The reservoir is in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, the second-largest of New Jersey’s state forests and is used for cranberry harvesting, authorities said.
It is unclear if Guadianini was accompanied by anyone at the time and no additional information about the drowning was available.
State officials urged the public to adhere to rules allowing swimming only in designated areas.
