NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was arrested on earlier this week for allegedly stabbing another man in the throat at an LA Fitness in New Jersey, police announced on Thursday.
The attack happened on Sept. 8 at the LA Fitness in Clark when police received a report of a person who had been stabbed in the throat, according to the Clark Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the victim had been stabbed in the throat by an acquaintance using a boxcutter.
The suspect had fled the scene before patrol officers arrived. The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where they were treated and released.

Following a thorough investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Antonio Lampon of Scoth Plains on Monday, Sept. 9. He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to possess weapons.
Lampon is currently being held in Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.
An investigation is ongoing.
