NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Suffolk County Police arrested a man for fatally stabbing his grandmother Saturday morning, officials said.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 9 Watkins Terrace in Amityville at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Dwight Clermont, 28, was found to have stabbed his grandmother, Monica Leopold, Suffolk County Police said.
Leopold, 81, lived at the residence while Clermont is homeless, officials said.
The victim was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip and pronounced dead.
Clermont is charged with second-degree murder and will be arraigned Nov. 12 in Central Islip.
