FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A 29-year-old massage therapist in was arrested for sexual assault while giving a massage at a New Jersey spa last week, prosecutors announced Thursday.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation after the Franklin Lakes Police Department received information on Saturday, Jan. 13, that Kewin Sepulveda of Paterson, engaged in sexual activity with an individual while giving a massage at the Hand & Stone Spa in Franklin Lakes on the previous day.
As a result of the investigation, Sepulveda was arrested in Paramus on Thursday and charged with second-degree sexual assault. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in court.
"Hand & Stone has an uncompromising commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and respectful environment for its guests and service providers," a Hand & Stone spokesperson said in an official statement to 1010 WINS. "When the franchise owner of the Franklin Lakes, New Jersey Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa learned of the allegations brought against Kewin Sepulveda on Jan. 18, 2024, the massage therapist's employment was terminated. The accused is not permitted to return to the spa, as Hand & Stone has a zero-tolerance policy related to inappropriate behavior."
